Ford Repair & Service
Independent Ford service in Kelowna for F-150, F-250, Escape, Explorer, and every Ford model. Factory-level diagnostics, 20-40% below dealer pricing, and your warranty stays intact.
Book This ServiceWe see more Fords than any other brand. F-150s and F-250 Super Dutys make up roughly a third of our weekly workload, followed by Escapes, Explorers, and Edges. The Okanagan runs on Ford trucks, and we have been maintaining them since 1987.
Ford owners ask us regularly whether using an independent shop voids their warranty. It does not. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects your right to have your Ford serviced at any qualified shop, provided OEM-spec parts and fluids are used. We run the same Ford factory diagnostic software the dealership uses, we stock Ford-spec fluids, and we document every service. The difference is our pricing runs 20 to 40 percent below dealer rates, and we do not push service packages designed to meet quarterly sales targets.
EcoBoost engines are in almost every Ford product now (the 2.0L, 2.3L, and 3.5L turbocharged direct-injection family). Strong engines, but direct injection means fuel never washes the intake valves, so carbon builds up on the valve faces over time. By 80,000 to 120,000 km, most EcoBoost engines show rough idle when cold, reduced acceleration, and increased fuel consumption. Walnut blasting the intake valves restores lost power and efficiency. We also service the turbocharger oil feed lines and wastegate actuators, which are common EcoBoost wear items.
The Super Duty trucks with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel have their own maintenance requirements. Fuel filter changes every 25,000 km, EGR system cleaning, diesel particulate filter regeneration monitoring, and high-pressure fuel system work. Diesel maintenance is different from gasoline engine maintenance, and cutting corners on it leads to expensive failures. The F-150s running the 5.0L Coyote V8 or 3.5L EcoBoost V6 need differential fluid changes, transfer case service, and spark plug replacement at intervals that many owners overlook because the manual buries these in the fine print.
Ford transmissions range from the 6R80 six-speed to the 10R80 ten-speed automatic. The PowerShift dual-clutch transmission in the 2011-2016 Focus and Fiesta is known for shuddering and erratic shifts, and we have serviced many of those units in Kelowna. The newer 10-speed automatics are reliable when the fluid is maintained, but Ford's "lifetime fill" recommendation does not hold up under towing loads and Okanagan temperature swings. We recommend fluid service every 60,000 to 80,000 km for normal use.
Our diagnostic equipment reads Ford-specific codes across every module: engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, SYNC, body control, and more. Generic OBD-II scanners miss pending codes and module communication faults that Ford-specific software catches immediately. Call (250) 861-4354 to book your Ford service.

Our Process
Ford-Specific Code Scan
We plug in Ford factory diagnostic software and pull codes from every module on the vehicle: engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, body control, SYNC, and more. A generic OBD-II reader catches engine codes. Ford software catches pending faults, module communication errors, and freeze frame data that tells us what the engine was doing at the moment the fault occurred.
Hands-On Verification
Codes point us in a direction. We verify with physical testing before recommending parts. A transmission slip code could be a solenoid, a fluid problem, or internal mechanical wear. Each of those is a different repair at a different price. We identify the actual cause first.
Repair with Ford-Spec Parts
Every repair uses parts and fluids that meet Ford OEM specifications. EcoBoost intake cleaning gets walnut blast media, not chemical spray. Power Stroke diesel work follows Ford-specific procedures for fuel system pressures and torque values. We document everything for your warranty records.
Road Test and Code Verification
We clear codes and drive the vehicle through the conditions that triggered the original fault. Transmission jobs get driven through all gear ranges under varying loads. EcoBoost performance complaints get verified across the RPM band. The fix is confirmed before you pick up the vehicle.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Magnuson-Moss protects your right to use any qualified shop for maintenance and repair. We use Ford-spec fluids, parts that meet OEM requirements, and we document every service. Your factory warranty remains valid.
EcoBoost carbon buildup on intake valves (noticeable by 80,000-120,000 km), timing chain tensioner wear on certain V6 and V8 engines, transmission fluid degradation in trucks that tow regularly, 4WD vacuum hub actuator failures, and rear differential limited-slip clutch wear. All of these are manageable when caught early during routine maintenance.
We service the 6.7L Power Stroke in F-250 through F-450 trucks. Fuel filter replacement every 25,000 km, EGR cleaning, DPF regeneration support, high-pressure fuel pump diagnosis, and injector testing. Diesel maintenance follows different rules than gasoline engines, and we have the equipment and training for it.
Ford calls some transmissions 'lifetime fill.' We disagree, especially for vehicles that tow or operate in Okanagan temperature extremes. We recommend fluid service every 60,000 to 80,000 km for normal driving and every 40,000 to 50,000 km for trucks that tow or haul regularly. A fluid change costs a fraction of a transmission rebuild.
Rough cold idle, misfires at low RPM, sluggish acceleration, and increased fuel consumption are the typical signs. Carbon accumulation on the intake valves is gradual and usually becomes noticeable between 80,000 and 120,000 km. If your EcoBoost is in that mileage range and you notice any of those symptoms, book an inspection.
